Electric vehicle charging stations are available for anyone to use to charge their vehicle.  Vehicles must be actively charging and/or waiting for charging in the space for no more than 8 hours.  A list of campus charging locations can be found HERE.  Please note that as of 10/25/23, there are fees associated with charging in certain spaces.

The below email explains the fees for charging at certain stations:

Dear Friends,

During the past summer Wesleyan installed 16 electrical vehicle charging stations, bringing the total number of chargers on campus to 30. Of the 16 new chargers, 10 are high-capacity Level 2 chargers, which can charge an average electrical vehicle in approximately three hours and the other six are Direct Current Fast Chargers (DCFC) (also called Level 3 chargers), which can charge an average electric vehicle in 50 minutes.

The University will charge a flat rate of $0.25 per kWh for the new high-capacity Level 2 chargers and $0.40 per kWh for the DC fast chargers. If after a two-hour grace period you are still parked in a charging spot when you’ve completed charging your vehicle, you will be charged a nominal fee by the hour. We want to make sure that charging stations are available to everyone who might need one.

These charges will be subject to change as the market for car charging evolves. Free chargers are still available near the College of Film and the Moving Image (T-Lot) and Freeman Athletic Center (Q-Lot).  See all charging station locations

The new charges, which are in line with charging fees in local municipalities, is effective immediately. Users may pay at the charging station by either using the FLO app, available on the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, or by purchasing a FLO card.  To learn more visit flo.com

Thank you for your partnership as we work towards creating a more environmentally sustainable community.

Best regards,

Director of Utilities and Infrastructure
